Kitsuné Meets Nightbox !

The second artist focus for the release of Kitsuné Maison 11 is Nightbox !

This Irish band is deeply influenced by post-punk and the power of rhythm to create a foot-stomping amalgam of punchy bass, chiming guitar, and dynamic synth, often girded with a four-to-the-floor kick drum !

Their new track “Pyramid” is available on the new compilation Kitsuné Maison 11 – The Indie Dance Issue (out May 16th)! Pre-order the compilation in digital here if you are in Europe or buy the cd directly on our webstore.

Nightbox interview :

Favorite spot to go spend the summer ?
Last year we moved to Kensington Market in Toronto just as the summer was coming to an end. We only experienced the last couple weeks of summer there and it was a real vibrant place. We’re all looking forward to enjoying a full summer there this year.

Favorite band or singer to eat a fresh salad with ?
Devo could whip us up a nice salad.

Favorite spring/summer festival ?
We played Oxegen Festival in Ireland back in ’09. We camped out for the weekend in some field which turned out to be the backstage area for one of the main stages. Still not really sure how we managed that but it was pretty wild.

Favorite summer song ?
We had Flight Facilities’ “Crave You” (buy it here) on repeat last summer. Giselle’s voice still makes us warm and tingly on the inside.

Favorite (and disreputable) addiction ?
Leftovers. They keep us going for days.

Also listen to Nightbox greatly up-to-date mixtape on Soundcloud !

Nightbox More Cowbell Mixtape by nightbox

1. Foals – After Glow (love the whole feel and atmosphere this song creates. They did a great job with the production of this album.
2. Gold Panda – Vanilla Minus (We saw Gold Panda play at the Drake Hotel in Toronto a couple of weeks ago and his live show sets him apart from a lot of other dance acts. Vanilla minus = Great dance tune, what’s not to like.
3. Sharkslayer – Who is he (the bassline on this track makes us want to slither around like snakes , it’s just that smooth)
4. The Rapture – House of jealous lovers (This song is 8 years old, yet still sounds relevant today. It’s easy to see how some modern indie bands are influenced by The Rapture.)
5. Polarsets – Morning (Fellow Kitsunees from the UK. Great pop tune)
6. Casiokids – Verdens Sterste land (No clue what these Norwegian lads are singing about but the music most definitely makes up for it)
7. Death from Above 1979 – Little Girl (MSTRKRFT remix) (Al-P and Sebastien produced our EP. This is the result when JFK’S dirty bass, Sebastien’s sexy pipes and Al’s production wizardry come together.
8. CSS – Let’s make love and listen to death from above (really dig Lovefoxx’s vocals. Maybe one day she’ll make love while listening to Nightbox)
9. Nightbox – Relocate you (A true story about an extraterrestrial/human sexual encounter)
10. Caribou – Sun (Fellow Canadian and a genius in more ways than one.)
11. Devo – Timing X (While recording our EP, Al-P threw on this track for us, we’ve been hooked ever since.)
12. Suuns – Arena (They’re a brilliant band with great synth textures and unique vocals)
