For the occasion, Raik Krause accepted to answer a few questions and gave us a playlist of some of his favorites tracks !
First of all, could you tell us a bit about the story behind the band ?
I started the project with my partner Robert Nickel in 2008 with a debut single “Walk Through” on Kitsune.
How would you describe your band and music in a few words ?
I have a very special taste in what I like and what I don’t like. I have a tough judgment on what I release which is both good and pressuring at the same time. So, what does it sound like? Maybe Busy P described our style best: “Herbie Hanckock Vs LFO” ?? It will definitely be electronic at the best possible level.
What’s the best thing about having a single released on Kitsuné ?
Kitsuné is one of the best labels out there with a very good hand in combining style, music and art. It’s great to release a new single on the label where we started the project three years ago and all the promo results look really promising.
What would be your dream place for a concert ?
…playing on planet MARS. The red atmosphere must be amazing
What’s the funniest thing that happened to you on the road?
One day at Munich airport. It was late evening, Robert and me went around and looking for the promoter. Then 3 people came towards us, they were 50 meters away. One of them was screaming, he made so much noise, sounded very drunk, the other two said nothing… Robert and I were a little bit confused but we just walked on. Then just 20 meters away from them, we couldn´t identified the 3 men, but one of them sounded more aggressive and stared screaming louder and louder… I told myself ” ok Raik, try to think like Bruce Lee…” then our eyes met and we realized that the drunken, screaming man was the footballstar Franck Ribery. The other two were just carrying his stuff around…. Now, everytime I see him on TV, I tell myself “Lucky you Franck, lucky you …”
What are your plans for the coming months?
I will do more slamming club tunes which step by step will lead into an album backed up with some live performances. Until then some remixes and touring for sure.
