Already 6 months since last season’s fashion week and I am back in Paris with my new exclusive mixtape for Kitsuné’s blog Le Journal. These Fashion Week mixes are especially close to my heart as they are very personal and pretty much my ultimate dream mixes. On these occasions I give myself complete free reigns and only aim at pleasing myself. Not that i would ever disown my other mixes for Kitsuné, BoomBox, Ponystep or Gomma, but these were collaborations with a label or a club and as a result I had to comply with a few given rules if you know what I mean.
Here I’ve gathered virtually all my favourite tracks of the moment and have put together a mix with a heavy accent on melody and emotion, not thinking too much about whether the tracks were hot from the press, hyped up or not. You can of course dance to this mix but it’s more about a warm, loving feeling than anything else. Perfect to let your hair down at home with your loved one or to have a little party with friends. All these songs have deeply touched me in one way or another, so I hope they will move you too.
I have tried to combine them together so that the whole thing would come alive as one piece rather than just a collection of tracks, which is what I do with the fashion shows I put together, using songs as cooking ingredients and spices in order to create a striking dish that takes a life of its own – only here the soundtrack is 1h instead of 10′.
