Adèle Haenel is a young French actress, delicate but with a really strong personality. She belongs to the new generation and is soon to be a very popular actress but we discovered her a few years ago in La Naissance des Pieuvres (check the atmospheric soundtrack by Para One) and more recently in the new Bonello’s movie L’Apollonide (House Of Tolerance) a modern view of a Maison Close in the early 1900’s.

After receiving this sparkling photo series for french magazine Technikart Mademoiselle, we decided to meet her for a little talk.

A director whom you would dream of working with?
I would love to work with James Cameron, because I am as obsessed and very well informed about The Abysse as he is. I also love the way he mixes technical and cinematographical evolution. My dream is to play Terminator in motion capture.

The last movie you saw at the cinema?
Millenium. It really loved the movie, and the actress was especially great.

A cult movie?
The Mask with Jim Carrey

A movie scene you would dream of doing?
Fighting with a man. At first I think he is too strong so I start talking to him, but then he insults someone I love and who is about to die so my eyes turn red and I kick his ass.

One thing you would hate to play/act?
I would hate if the man won

Your best shoot memory?
I loved the shooting for Waterlilies and also the one for L’Apollonide.

The actor whom you would prefer playing with?
Rooney Mara

One song people should absolutely listen to?
The Night Last Night by Mark Ronson and The Business Intl. Any song by Bashung, Fever Ray and Vaya Con Dios

Your Paris top 5? (restaurant, bar, things to do…)
Le Jardin Des Plantes (for the wale’s sceleton)

What’s next for you ?
I will be playing in La Cour Du Palais Des Papes for the Avignon festival and in a movie by Katell Quillevéré.
