Kitsuné Meets Bufi + Exclusive Stream

Gildas’ brand new mix has been out for two weeks and has reached great positions in electro charts around the world !
#2 – Japan
#4 – France

The inspired Mexican disco-house producer Bufi, with his flabbergasting tracks, is making quite an impression on the electro world more and more every day.

Gildas, with his talent to flair new talents, has already mixed one of his song,”Happy Robot”, on his second Kitsuné Club Night Mix out last December.

We already knew that Bufi’s music was one of the things we loved. That’s why, Gildas included Bufi’s brilliant remix of Plastic Plates’ “Things I Didn’t Know I Loved” in his new mix!
Listen to Bufi’s remix here!

Here is our interview of Bufi, talking about his mexican influences and his latest -and future- successes.

Why did you choose “Bufi” for you stage name?
It’s my mother´s last name, who is Italian. We use two last names in Mexico, so my entire name is Mateo González Bufi.

Last September you released your debut album “Trigoly”, can you tell us more about it?
It is my first long-play. It features 9 songs that I developed over 2010 and 2011. First single, “Happy Robot” was released on Kitsuné Night Club Mix #2 on december 2011. The album was released 4 months ago, and we are making the video for the 4th single, “Labios Rojos” that will be out on january 2013.

You played with Lifelike at Wanderlust in Paris one month ago. Had you already met him before? The atmosphere was nutty?
No, I hadn’t met him before. Atmosphere was awesome, Wanderlust is such a good place to spin! Baptiste (Zimmer) also did an awesome set that night, and it’s because of him that I played there. It was cool to meet Fred Agostini, and then discover he used to make this legendary parties called “Respect is burning”. Paris is so great, my french blood always feels attracted to that place.

How is the night life in Mexico City?
Explosing! Both nightlife and concert scene have rapidly grown in the past 6 years. I guess Internet and the proximity to USA are both reasons for this to happen.

What inspires you there?
My friends, the music they do. The music we all spin together as a big family called “Electrique”.

You remixed Plastic Plates (feat. Simon Lord) “Things I Didn’t Know I Loved”. Why this track in particular?
I love that song! It has an awesome 80´s laidback vibe. I thought I could make something good out of those vocals.

Can we expect a new EP or live show in Paris soon?
New single-EP and Europe mini-tour is coming in March-April 2013!
