Michel Vivien made his first pair of shoes for Pucci Verdi. Then, the talented shoe designer was caught by the marvelous world of Haute Couture. Michel Vivien has collaborated with prestigious Haute Couture houses, amongst them, Dior, Saint Laurent Paris, and Lanvin.
The style of the shoe designer is unique, sensual and pragmatic. Michel Vivien draws as the desire takes him using the shoe to bring tradition and audacity.
Maison Kitsuné co-founder Masaya Kuroki and Michel Vivien have teamed up to create a pop rock ankle boots for fall/winter 2013-14, firstly introduced during the Maison Kitsuné presentation at Pitti W, and then proposed in preview in Tokyo, on the occasion of Maison Kitsuné Tokyo’s opening.

How did you find the idea of designing shoes ?
It was randomly, I met two Italian brothers from Naples who owned a shoe company for women. At this moment, I was painting but immediately, I saw an opportunity, like a sign of destiny.
What kind of women are your designing for ?
My creations are designed for the Parisian women who live a hectic life.
How would you define Maison Kitsuné’s style ?
I would define the style of Maison Kitsuné by three words: Simplicity, high quality and contemporary.
How was your collaboration with Masaya ?
Maison Kitsune and I share common values and same feelings.
What were you inspired of when you made these Michel Vivien x Maison Kitsune boots ?
We have talked about music… The boots are “rock’n’ roll”!
