So enjoy, while reading the exclusive interview we did for Kitsuné Journal just below!
The release date of “Deezy Daisy” in approaching quickly, you must be excited! How does it feel, releasing you first album? And even more on Kitsuné ?
We are so excited to live this, it’s like a dream come true for us! We were basically children when Kitsuné debut, we kind of grew up with this label, followed it, followed their trend… And now here we are! It’s amazing.
As it’s your debut EP people don’t know you that well, can you give us 3 pithy anecdotes about you ?
Our band’s first name was « Birds Escape ». We were in a rehearsal, taking a break in Thibault’s garden, searching for a band name, when Thibault just looked at the sky and said ”What about Birds Escape?” and that’s it.
Lily has appeared in an advertisement for Benetton in Milan in March. We were really proud of her.
Lily and Martin always lose their phone. It’s like their fate!
“You Don’t Know Me” reached more than a million views on YouTube; did you expect this success? How did it feel?
It was completly insane! We couldn’t believe it. It’s hard to realize it’s real because a million… it’s really huge! But the truth is ”You Don’t Know Me” was only avaible on Soundcloud, we didn’t load it on Youtube, it was a guy in Brazil… I’m actually not sure about it! All we can say is that we are hoping the same for our new single “Deezy Daisy”
You played at our Kitsuné Maison En Vrai #13 and you’ll be back for the #14, what changes can we be expecting ?
We believe that each new gig must be a new challenge, so beware!
Thank you Portland, and we’ll see you in November at the Kitsuné Maison En Vrai #14 at la Boule Noire on November 7th with Swim Deep! You can already join the event on Facebook to keep in touch and buy your tickets here.
