Love Rises – Maison Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2016 Men’s & Women’s Pre-Fall Collections
From the imagination of co-founders Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, Maison Kitsuné pays homage to its Japanese heritage this Fall/Winter 2016 season.
Inspired by the aesthetic and dreamscape created by Hayao Miyazaki in acclaimed, animated film The Wind Rises, the “Love Rises” women’s pre-fall and men’s collection showcases elegant, ethereal silhouettes in the romantic glow of the 1930’s.
The “Love Rises” men’s collection introduces Japanese silhouettes, comfortable, cool and elegant in shades of navy blue and gray with green, when traditional Japanese kimono dresses are redone in modern, Western Italian silk with black crepe inset, worn loosely above the knee for the women’s pre-fall collection.
Icons of Mount Fuji and the Rising Sun overlay the season’s poetic, whimsical prints, either camouflage or imaginary airplanes with bird wings taking off for distant shores.
