Love Rises – Maison Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2016 Woman’s Collection

From the imagination of co-founders Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, Maison Kitsuné pays homage to its Japanese heritage this Fall/Winter 2016 season.

Inspired by the aesthetic and dreamscape created by Hayao Miyazaki in acclaimed, animated film The Wind Rises, the “Love Rises” women’s collection showcases elegant, ethereal silhouettes in the romantic glow of the 1930’s.

Traditional Japanese kimono dresses are redone in black velvet with a tone-on-tone guipure lace inset, worn more structured and shorter. While bold and strong, the season’s dress code is chic and feminine in spirit: the faux shearling ecru coat coupled with a matching embroidered cap and bicolor loafer; the fox-adorned lurex jacquard jacket worn over a skirt and silky, pussy bow blouse; and knitwear delicately and graphically designed with the Maison Kitsuné woman in mind.

Finally, fox illustrations by artist Dan-Ah Kim add poetry and serenity, which beautifully play upon the effortless yet whimsical Japanese mindset.
