Pride foxes! 🦊🏳️‍🌈

For Pride Month, Maison Kitsuné celebrates the LGBTQ community with « Pride », a new collection of gender-neutral pieces proudly displaying the rainbow flag. The brand has partnered with The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people.

For this occasion, Maison Kitsuné is hosting a ‘Pride’ party in NYC at Short Stories featuring DJ sets by Mazurbate (stylist to pop stars Kim Petras and CL but also a widely booked New York-based DJ), Lauren Flax (Detroit native & long-time Brooklyn resident, a versatile and unique artist, in-demand DJ and producer with an extensive discography of original tracks) and Oscar Nñ (NYC-based DJ and one of the co-founders of Papi Juice Collective.) We’ll also welcome special performances by New York City drag queens, Nicky Ottav (artist and entertainer known for her bold, pop-art inspired drag) and Blake Deadly (performer, activist, filmmaker).

We’re pleased to celebrate the opening of our first pied-à-terre in Beijing along with a Kitsuné Club Night at Dada Club on May 21st!

For this special occasion, we’re thrilled to invite no-need-to-introduce Dirty Dishes that will be spinning a rich music selection from dancehall to hip-hop and R&B beats. She’ll be followed by one of China’s most exciting DJ, Puzzy Stack, who will be playing a mix of genres on the fly such as UK bass, grime and techno.

Make sure to come early to catch one of the major figures of the current Asian electronic music scene, Hu Yang, who’ll deliver a diversified, sophisticated and tasteful set that’ll make you all move on the dance floor!

From April 24th to May 23rd, we’re pleased to welcome Ben Pier for an exclusive exhibition & launch magazine at Maison Kitsuné Silver Lake.

Raised in St. Louis, Ben grew up on a steady diet of comic books, skateboarding, and playing in punk bands before attending art school in Chicago. After graduating, he spent a decade in NYC applying his traditional documentary-style photography to the realms of fashion and music.

In Nothing You Don’t Know, Ben Pier pieces together a collection of his personal documentary work into a sprawling 68 page zine. The zine and the pages within work something like a waking surrealist dream as the viewer bears witness to the photographer’s momentary glances of one hyperreal scene after another.

Ben shoots in a blend of documentary and narrative style that blurs the line between both. Wave after wave of vaguely connected images sit together from a vivid mix of contemporary tablous. The work, presented in book form, reads like a short story. One that happens in a flash and goes completely unquestioned until the moment you’re done turning the pages.

From March 1st to March 27th, we’re pleased to welcome Stefania Tejada for an exclusive exhibition at Maison Kitsuné Filles du Calvaire.

Stefania Tejada is a Colombian artist based in Paris, France. Her work explores the evolution of the female spirit, threading nature and womanhood coming together into an unequivocal wake-up call towards reconnecting with our origins, the infinite source of life.

She has lived in Colombia, Mexico, US, Spain and France. As a committed traveler and constant relocator, she is often collecting seeds of inspiration that later bloom into her creative projects. Raising awareness towards the subjects of Women’s rights and our environmental crisis is fundamental in her body of work as an artist, an activist and a woman.

In “Territorial Beings”, she immerses us into the journey of Maison’s Kitsuné’s emblematic world. Through exuberant visual tales of shapeshifting and transformation we witness the power of nature and humanity coming together into an unequivocal wake-up call towards reconnecting with our wildlife and our wild selves. When was the last time we run free?

The 8 pieces that constitute the show “Territorial Beings” are meant to open a dialogue between cultures and ultimately transplanting the brand’s beliefs within the artist’s own land. Her work is a play on possibilities, reinterpreting moments and breeding new life into established imagery. As a signature of her work, the portraits gaze back at the viewer, they stared, they hunt, and they intend to hide as much as to reveal. “Catch me if you can” says the shapeshifter.

The tour will draw from Kitsune’s diverse and multifaceted brand to connect fans and new audiences with fresh music and artists. Acts ranging from the genre bending Yazmine, to French “float house” artist Mad Rey, Kitsuné’s radio tour will feature unreleased and refreshing sounds straight to your ears.

HVNS will close the tour with Block.FM in Tokyo with his future bass influence. Born in New York, raised in Hawaii and currently based in Tokyo, HVNS is a Japanese-American Music Producer/Visual Artist. With a production style described as gritty, soulful, sharp and sensual, HVNS merges his RnB and techno infused sound with acute visual designs: crafting a synesthetic experience. HVNS produces and DJ as half of the RnB/techno band “iivvyy”, an eclectic take on club music, merging hard techno and ethereal RnB soundscapes. Production credits as iivvyy include remix work for Japanese legend Hikaru Utada as well as their single “look” being released through Kitsuné Musique.

Like most, I find myself weary and ready for a more peaceful year. While looking through the selection of photos for this show, what stood out to me most was the serenity in each image: Like all of the chaos of the world had been vacuumed out completely. There’s a stillness in them like the end of a deep breath, right before a big exhale. That’s what I want to be sharing right now. Images that help create a pause, help pull away some darkness, and help create a moment where you can float for a moment in peace.

Through My Lens is a collection of pictures taken by Mahaneela, a 26 year old multidisciplinary artist with roots in Ghana, India and Jamaica. Her work explores the themes of diasporic history, music and culture.
