A couple of weeks ago I was invited to Argentina for a fashion show and a dj gig. The designers of new clothing brand Garza Lobos<\/a> contacted me to work on the soundtrack of their second show during Buenos Aires Fashion week (B.A.F. Week). We exchanged ideas and audio files on the internet prior to my arrival, and eventually met up the day before the show to fine tune details. Designed by Constanza \u2018Cuti\u2019 von Niederh\u00e4usern and Ruben Troilo, the brand cleverly combines traditional ink print technique on light fabrics and slick customization. With over 55 looks there was plenty to cling your teeth into and get inspired by these resolutely striking silhouettes, chic and modern, young but not too much, sexy but not too revealing.<\/p>\n

We had agreed the music should be driving but not too fast nor heavy, yet full of life, melodic and uplifting. Perfectly in sync with what I\u2019m playing (the Belgian Disco Mafia sound is slowly taking over clubland). So I essentially had to look into my record bag and propose some of my favorite tracks. Kindly Cuti and Ruben gave me their trust, although we clicked together easily. The show was a success and attracted rave reviews from journalists as soon as it was over (the beauty of the internet and Twitter).<\/p>\n

The next night I deejayed at MSTRPLN, next door to the famous Crowbar club (the two clubs are owned by the same people but don\u2019t communicate), which has had nice guests such as Holy Ghost!<\/a>, Cut Copy<\/a>, In Flagranti<\/a> etc lately. As I got there, the party was in full swing thanks to dj Zucker \u2013 a local legend who\u2019s long served in Buenos Aires\u2019 clubs and bands \u2013 playing a mixed bag of cool electro-pop and mash-ups over Latin-infused beats. I eventually got to the decks at 3.30am and played til\u2026 the end. A clued-up crowd into Kitsun\u00e9 who loves to party, what more can you ask for? Thanks to all and Lorena Pafundi my dancing stage-partner for the night (and Ruben\u2019s long-time girlfriend who designs the shoes for the brand).<\/p>\n
