To celebrate and avoid any desorientation, we&#8217;re taking you on a virtual Maison Kitsun\u00e9 Tour Guide throughout the 6\u00e8me arrondissement!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second stop: The Shakespeare and Company bookstore !<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After our\u00a0first <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/1BU9Ntu\" target=\"_blank\">stop<\/a> in the Luxembourg gardens, we&#8217;re taking you to the finest and most famous Anglo-Saxon bookstore of the capital!<\/p>\n<p>Located nearby the Seine riverbanks, Shakespeare and Company was opened in 1951 by\u00a0George Whitman. It was originally named &#8220;Le Mistral&#8221; but renamed to &#8220;Shakespeare and Company&#8221; in 1964 in tribute to Sylvia Beach&#8217;s bookstore.<\/p>\n<p>Today, it serves both as a regular bookstore and as a reading library, specialised in English-language literature.
