Crewshade is an American music collective founded in New York in 2018. Led by Jimmy Giannopoulos, Crewshade was born from a parallel project between Jimmy and the bassist Jenny Lee (Warpaint).
Crewshade seeks to fill a void in mainstream music - mixing gay, straight, black, white, thrash, hip-hop, garage, shrink, country, pop, abstract, etc. The idea is to represent as much as possible without confusing the listener. He discovered that the only way to do it is to have it all happen naturally. So Jimmy set up a studio in his Brooklyn apartment and installed a metaphorical revolving door, letting in as many artists as possible.
