Josh Dives explains: "I started writing this track a few months into the first Sydney covid lockdown in 2020, just as the initial fear and uncertainty had started to fade a little and boredom set in. I was really digging Men I Trust’s ‘Oncle Jazz’ at the time - the slower tempos, minimal drums with deep, grooving bass and their almost whispered, breathy vocal sound. The track was also heavily inspired by R McCarthy (Infinite bisous/Column/Keyboard), with his romantic, contemplative vibe with such restrained percussion, melodic basslines and unique synth sounds."
