Asukal is the “electro candy-pop” creation of artist and producer Raquel Undheim. True to the word's Filipino translation from 'sugar', Asukal's music encompasses a jittery and strangely beautiful journey that is mostly produced playing with synths on her bedroom floor. She grew up across North America and South East Asia, spending years living in Manila, Philippines, rural American towns, and Brooklyn, where she lives now. Drawing inspirations from PC music and electronic pop, her songs are a personal reflection of her life thus far. Her debut EP 'Purity' is a unique and fresh take on innovative pop music while remaining familiar enough for the listener to immediately be hooked.
