American recording artist Son Kuma emerged during the Summer of 2017 after releasing his debut anthem, 'Drink This'. The South Los Angeles native started to take his music more seriously during his one-year suspension from Stanford University.Inspired by the likes of Childish Gambino, Frank Ocean, and Chance The Rapper, Son Kuma taught himself how to produce and write songs to reflect a myriad of tones and emotions in order to make his music more personal. He used his suspension to reflect upon the events leading up to it, which were detailed in his debut mixtape, 'Indica'
