Jaja Bu was born and raised in New Jersey. Starting out his musical life as a drummer at age 7, Jaja really lets his rhythmic background bleed through into his writing and production, which naturally formed his sound. JaJa started this project solely to have an outlet to express the art he wanted to create, without any outside influence. His first single, “Sweetness”has an alternative R&B sound, combining guitar tones inspired by Smashing Pumpkins and Hall and Oates, and a blend of analog synths and percussion. The song is gentle and mesmerizing, as he navigates his emotions and walks the line between lust and genuine feelings for someone.
