23 year old Sol Sunnanå Eriksen from Stavanger, Norway creates lo-fi r’n’b straight from her room under the artist name SOLÅ.
After having 4 out of 4 tracks recommended by URØRT, a program on the national radio station dedicated to highlight the best unsigned music, she was named artist of the month. She is now in the runs towards becoming artist of the year, previously won by artists such as Girl In Red.
Despite of her young age SOLÅ has already, for a couple of years, been a prolific songwriter and musician in the Stavanger music scene and has contributed on her friends recordings such as the solo project of Lasse Lokøy from SLØTFACE. A year ago SOLÅ started producing her own music from her dorm in a shared flat in Bergen. Her sounds have climbed out the cracks of her room and into the ears of thousands of listeners around the world.
While performing live with an electric guitar, her laptop and sidekick Gabriel Muñoz (boy Pablo) last fall she caught the attention of Joar Nicolaysen (Eget Selskap) and Matias Téllez (Young Dreams, Blanca Records) and was signed to their newly started music company LEKK. Over the last year she has put out seven tracks on Soundcloud, gaining national claim and a spot on this years Øya Festival, one of Europes leading music festivals. SOLÅ has been picked out to perform on the yearly showcase festival VILL VILL VEST, which hosted a big KITSUNE party in 2017, will kick off September 26 in Bergen.
Her first official release «Dizzy» will be released on KITSUNE August 9 2019.
