Toronto’s Tasha The Amazon intends to leave a mark with her music. Growing up in the local underground hip-hop and punk rock culture, Tasha meshes those worlds with a style that’s personal and in-your-face. Of Jamaican and German heritage, the nearby Kitchener native is a classically-trained pianist whose rapping, singing, and production also hints at dancehall roots. After a mixtape rise, her 2017 Juno-nominated debut, Die Every Day, and her award-winning videos, Tasha The Amazon is embarking on her most courageous effort to date, Black Moon.
