After meeting in college at the University of Florida, Robbie Kingsley, Franco Solari, Dylan McCue, Andre Escobar and Zach Levy started their musical journey together through a slew of long nights and wild houses shows in their living room – there’s no basements in Florida. Ironically, from the tattered carpeting of their shitty college house arose a refined sound that when recorded resonated heavily with students and strangers alike. Earworm hooks, intuitive melodies, and a refreshing but familiar sound led to early streaming success for their debut singles ‘Younger’ and ‘Stay’.
Time has passed, and The Hails have matured. Their production is more unique and forward thinking, yet the ethos of the project is still the same. While it gained experience and refined technique, it still holds on to its original intimacy and nostalgia.
The Hails hit their stride when five options, five tastes, and five talents come together to create something that can thrive within the intersection of their different inspirations. Their debut EP “He Seems Upset”, out August 25th is their first compiled extraction from the depths of this juncture.
