Fabrics & Care

Explore our Fabrics and Care Recommendations

At Maison Kitsuné, every creation begins with carefully selected materials. From denim to knitwear, explore what makes each piece unique and learn how to care for it sustainably. For optimal care, we invite you to follow the dedicated instructions found on your product’s label.

LEATHER

Leather, noble and alive, develops a unique patina and reveals its character over time. At Maison Kitsuné, every leather is carefully selected and deserves special care to preserve its suppleness and longevity. This material naturally soften with wear - for ready-to-wear pieces, we recommend choosing your usual size, your piece will adapt beautifully over time.

CARE

We recommend having your leather pieces cared for by a professional.

Once a year, nourish them with a dedicated cream or milk, applied with a soft cotton cloth in circular motions, then polish with a dry one.

Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the leather. If it gets wet, gently blot without rubbing using a soft, dry cloth.

Store each piece in its garment bag, away from light and heat. Keep bags and accessories stuffed with silk paper to maintain their shape, and hang jackets on padded hangers.

Knits & Wool

Whether made from merino wool, lambswool, cashmere, or mohair, each knitwear piece embodies exceptional craftsmanship. At Maison Kitsuné, we select these wools with the utmost care to combine comfort, elegance, and durability. These knitwear pieces require special care. To preserve their shape and softness, a few simple steps are required.

CARE

Wool is naturally odor-resistant. Air out your knitwear between wears to reduce washing frequency. For stains, professional cleaning is best. When needed, handwash or use the delicate/wool cycle inside out, in a mesh bag, with a mild detergent.

Do not soak, rub, or wring the fabric.

After washing, always lay flat to dry, away from sunlight, to preserve softness and shape. Ironing isn’t necessary when dried properly.

Store your knits in the same way – flat, never hanging.

Over time, pilling is natural. Remove it gently before washing, using a fabric or safety razor in the direction opposite to the knit.

DENIM

Born in France, refined in Japan, Maison Kitsuné denim blends strength and elegance. Each piece is crafted to reveal its unique texture and color. The first wash will slightly tighten the fibers, but the fabric naturally softens with wear and over time. For the perfect fit, choose your usual size.

CARE

To preserve their texture and color, wash your denim pieces sparingly – a few times per season is enough. Simply air them out regularly, away from direct sunlight.

When washing, turn them inside out, fasten all buttons, and use a gentle 30°C cycle with similar colors. Choose a light spin to avoid fading and try not to tumble-dry.

If dried flat, ironing usually isn’t necessary. If creases remain, iron inside out. Fold or roll them neatly from the hems up to prevent creases, and store away from direct light.

PUFFERS

To ensure both warmth and lightness, every down jacket relies on the quality of its filling. Maison Kitsuné carefully selects a variety of insulations: microgel, down, feathers, or polyester. Each requires specific care to preserve its properties. A few simple steps are enough to keep your jacket in perfect condition, season after season.

CARE

Have your down pieces cleaned by a professional to preserve their filling and volume.

Polyester-filled jackets may be machine-washed at 30°C on a gentle cycle, fully zipped, then tumble-dried on low heat. Once dry, turn them inside out to remove residual moisture and maintain loft.

If water-repellent treated, use a neutral detergent to preserve the finish.

Store your jacket pieces on hangers, ideally under a protective cover.

JERSEY

Soft and comfortable, jersey is the main fabric used for tee-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. Maison Kitsuné selects high-quality cotton fibers to ensure durability and softness. With gentle care, following our recommendations, your pieces will retain their shape and comfort over time.

CARE

We recommend washing your pieces inside out to prevent damage to patches and/or prints, at a maximum of 30°C.

We advise drying your jersey pieces flat to avoid distortion.

We recommend ironing jersey pieces on the reverse side, avoiding the patches and/or prints. You may only iron the lower body and sleeves to prevent damage to the patches and/or prints.

We recommend storing flat and folding with a 1 cm margin around the patches and/or prints to avoid damaging them.
