La Boca
Specialising in illustration and image-making, La Boca attempt to create worlds immersed in retina-teasing colour and tactile atmospheres. The images often keep one foot in the past, and one foot in the future, feeling at times, both familiar and completely new. The studio is not averse to a little strangeness and abstraction, but the aim, always, is to connect with an audience. The images are designed to be felt, feeding imaginations and embracing emotions.
La Boca have worked with a wide range of clients, on projects ranging from 12” record covers through to international advertising campaigns. Along the way they have collected honours from D&AD, Cannes Lions, European Design Awards, ADC Awards and AIGA.
The earliest inspiration to draw (that I can remember!) is probably the Meg & Mog books by Jan Pieńkowski. Perhaps the colour influence is still evident in our work today.
Music inspires everything in my life, not just work.
I can't think of any song that evokes as much joy and colour inside my head, as the original theme tune to The Muppet Show.
I would love to work on a Katy Perry album. I feel we would potentially share a similar creative sensibility.
The Café Kitsuné albums often accompany my work late at night, so maybe designing a cover for one would be appropriate.
I would like our art to move.

*Do you remember the first picture that made you want to create an artwork? What was it? Would you mind sharing it with us?
The earliest inspiration to draw (that I can remember!) is probably the Meg & Mog books by Jan Pieńkowski. Perhaps the colour influence is still evident in our work today.
*Does music inspire your work?
Music inspires everything in my life, not just work.
*If your art was a song, what would it be? Why?
I can't think of any song that evokes as much joy and colour inside my head, as the original theme tune to The Muppet Show.
*If you could illustrate one artist for his album cover, who would it be? Why?
I would love to work on a Katy Perry album. I feel we would potentially share a similar creative sensibility.
*Is there a song on Kitsuné Musique you think would have been great for you to illustrate?
The Café Kitsuné albums often accompany my work late at night, so maybe designing a cover for one would be appropriate.
*Now that you have linked your artworks with music, what other art would you like to explore?
I would like our art to move.
